I was always enthusiastic and passionate about motor vehicles and how they worked. Many hours were spent with Dad in the garage and as soon as I was old enough, I got my first motorbike, and many more after that. Even as a kid, I was constantly tinkering with them or rebuilding the engine and working out ways to enhance performance – you know, ‘make them go faster’.
This enthusiasm did not apply to school and my mum will tartly tell you she was at the school more than me, but it got me my start as an apprentice with Peugeot in Maidstone Kent in 1995.
I went on to complete this apprenticeship and over the next few years I was fortunate to be able to work for various dealerships including an independent Ferrari company specialising in servicing, electrical and mechanical fault-finding on exotic cars to include Ferrari, Lamborghini, Porsche and Maserati.
Over the next few years I moved on to commercial vehicles, carrying out servicing, repairs, stripping and rebuilding engines, mechanical and electrical diagnostics. There were also stints as a diesel technician, carrying out field service repairs to fork-lift trucks including mechanical, electrical and hydraulic diagnostics. A similar role in field service had me working on a range of construction equipment.
I got my start in the mining industry after a move to Perth in 2006 and spent fifteen years working in many areas of the industry for global companies such as Westrac Caterpillar, Rio Tinto, CQMS Razor and most recently, Hitachi Construction.
My years of experience and the need for a new challenge has seen me launch R&T Industries earlier this year. My investment into the latest technologies and diagnostic tools has also led to me becoming an agent for one of the top global tuning companies in performance enhancement. It's my passion for this industry that continues to push me forward and strive to offer excellent customer service.
